Heritage Train Rides
Come and ride a train straight out of the good old days, when life was simpler and train services were an essential part of rural life.
Our restored heritage trains "take you for a ride" through the beautiful scenic countryside and forest of the Central Highlands, to the highest operating railway station in Victoria.
The Daylesford Spa Country Railway, a Rail Safety Accredited tourist railway operator, offers a regular schedule or excursion trains every Sunday.
Popular with families, friends and railway buffs, the train rides start from our 1882 heritage listed railway station in Daylesford.
The return journey along the top of the range traverses open farmland and thick forest, passing the sites of ancient volcanos and little communities established in the gold rush era.
The 1 hour return trip to Bullarto costs $15 for adults ($14 concession), $13 for school-age children, and $35 for families. Toddlers ride free, and they still get their own ticket for the conductor to punch!
Trains will not operate on days declared as Code Red (Catastrophic).
The 3:00pm departure from Daylesford only travels to Musk.
Historic railmotor trips operate every Sunday to the following timetable.
Seating is non-reserved and bookings are not required.
DAYLESFORD SUNDAY MARKET:
The Daylesford Sunday Market operates each Sunday from 8.00 am to 3.00 or 4.00pm at Daylesford Station (rain, hail, shine or snow).
A wide variety of stalls selling everything from books to spare parts for the car, fresh local produce, clothing and collectables are located at the market.
The Daylesford Sunday Market is located at 18 Raglan Street (Midland Highway) and plenty of FREE car parking is available.
If you have something to sell and would like to attend our Sunday Market, please pre-book a stall or arrive before 6:30am on Sunday morning to queue for a stall site.
Please note that we cannot accept any more produce, food, sock or candle stalls at the moment.
