Catch the Easter Bunny Train and share Easter festivities at Mornington Railway while travelling in lovingly restored heritage carriages behind a classic Victorian Railways steam locomotive. Trains depart from Moorooduc, and Tanti stations as well as the new Mornington Station on Yuilles Road.

Trains will run on 9 April 2017.
It will be great to see you there.

Mornington Railway is a heritage broadgauge railway operating in the Mornington Peninsula between Moorooduc and Mornington.

We have both Steam and Diesel heritage broadgauge locomotives and heritage passenger cars.

Running days are normally the first three Sundays of each month.

FEATURES:
MORNINGTON
PARKING: Free parking is available at all three stations for rail patrons only. Moorooduc car park closes at 5pm. Mornington car park closes at 4pm. ‘Owner onus’ applies.
REFRESHMENTS & SOUVENIRS BBQ: light refreshments, tea and coffee and a selection of souvenirs are available on Moorooduc Station.
COURTESY BUS: A shuttle bus service operates on some days between Mornington Station and key locations in the Mornington township. Refer web site and Facebook for days when this service is operating. Check web sites and Facebook for availability.

MOOROODUC
MOOROODUC DEPOT : The railway’s locomotives, rolling stock and workshops are located opposite the Moorooduc Station. Guided tours are offered at times.
FOOTBRIDGE & SIGNAL BOX: The footbridge was relocated to Moorooduc in 2004. It has been restored from its dilapidated state at North Fitzroy, many years after the line closed Considered to be the longest and highest Victorian Railways timber footbridge at the time, it spanned the North Fitzroy Line - a short branch line constructed over the Inner Circle Railway line. The bridge carried heavy spectator traffic during the football season into the Fitzroy football stadium. The signal box was originally located on the extension of the Coburg line from Fawkner to Somerton.
CONVENIENCES : Toilets are only available at Moorooduc Station. Disabled facilities provided.
MT ELIZA REGIONAL PARK: Adjacent to Moorooduc station, the park includes a lake, BBQ’s & walking trails.

PLEASE NOTE:
Heritage Diesel locomotive will replace steam on days of Extreme Fire warning or the local forecast is over 38 degrees or when steam locomotive is out of service.
Heritage Diesel locomotive will not operate on days of Code Red Fire warning.

With the exception of Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs, dogs are not permitted on platforms or trains.
Smoking is not permitted on platforms or trains.
Alcohol is not permitted on any part of the Mornington Railway except for specially designated events.
